The Drawing Lab
The experimental drawing sessions are designed to get into the present moment. The approach is intuitive and non-academic: no right or wrong, no pressure to produce something perfect.
Built around contemporary drawing techniques, improvisation and creative freedom.
For all levels
The Summer Drawing Lab is suitable for all levels. If it is the first time you want to explore creativity. Or if you are someone who is experienced with drawing and want to come back to the joy of it. Each person’s own visual language is encouraged.
Outside the workshops, the week is yours. Rest, explore the surroundings, or keep working. This is entirely up to you.
Sleep above the sea
High on a hill above the coastline of Evia, the guesthouse is a calm place where you can escape the bustle of everyday life.
With wide, open views of the sea and the surrounding nature. Wake up with a coffee on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful sunrise!

The village Limnionas and several beaches are all within a 15-minute walk from the guesthouse.

The green garden of the guesthouse offers shade and is made for doing very little, very well.

Your hosts
Ioanna Florou – Workshop teacher
Ioanna Florou is a Greek visual artist based in Thessaloniki, specialising in contemporary drawing and experimental visual research. Trained at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, her work is conceptual and intuitive. Her favourite material is charcoal and her work is mysterious, dreamlike and full of emotion. Her work has been shown at the MOMus Experimental Center for the Arts and in solo and group exhibitions.
She transformed her personal studio into a shared space for drawing sessions and events. With The Esque Studio she created a creative community space that allows people to practice and express themselves freely, regardless of drawing level or technical skill. With the Summer Drawing Lab, she brings that same spirit to Evia.
Linda van Laar – Host
Linda van Laar is a Dutch creative host and event organiser who traded The Netherlands for Greece where she is currently completing a Master’s in Counseling and Psychotherapy.
She has hosted a wide range of events. From creative gatherings, and group picnics to speeddates and moderated talks on themes like identity, belonging and life choices.
Her own creative work is colorful and leaves room for imperfection. She mostly paints landscapes and abstract forms with watercolours and creates silver jewellery that is bold and inspired by nature. At the Summer Drawing Lab she is your trusted host.
