1. Definitions
“Summer Drawing Lab” refers to the group holidays organised by Linda van Laar, registered in Greece under AFM number 183863823. “Participant” refers to any person who has submitted a booking form and paid a deposit. “Holiday” refers to the 7-night creative drawing holiday in Evia, Greece.
2. Booking and Payment
Registration is complete only after the participant has submitted the booking form, received written confirmation from Linda van Laar, and paid the deposit of €295. The remaining balance is due no later than 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. If the remaining balance is not received within this period, Summer Drawing Lab reserves the right to cancel the booking and offer the spot to another participant. The deposit is non-refundable unless the holiday is cancelled by the organiser.
3. Prices
All prices listed include 24% Greek VAT. Prices are per person and based on the selected room type. Summer Drawing Lab reserves the right to adjust prices in the event of significant changes in local taxes or accommodation costs. Confirmed bookings will not be affected by price changes after payment of the deposit.
4. What Is Included
The retreat price includes: 7 nights accommodation in the selected room type, daily breakfast, 2 group dinners, 4 Drawing Lab workshops, all workshop materials, one day excursion including transport and airport transfer from and to Athens Airport.
5. What Is Not Included
The following are not included in the price and are the responsibility of the participant: flights/transport to and from Athens, lunches, dinners other than those specified above, personal expenses, travel insurance, and any optional activities not part of the programme.
6. Cancellation by the Participant
Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to Linda van Laar. The following cancellation policy applies:
- More than 8 weeks before the start date: deposit is forfeited, remaining balance is fully refunded
- Between 4 and 8 weeks before the start date: 50% of the total price is forfeited
- Less than 4 weeks before the start date: 100% of the total price is forfeited
In the event of cancellation, Summer Drawing Lab will make reasonable efforts to find a replacement participant, in which case a partial refund may be discussed.
7. Cancellation or Changes by the Organiser
Summer Drawing Lab reserves the right to cancel the holiday if a minimum number of participants is not reached. In this case, all payments including the deposit will be fully refunded to the participant within 14 days. The organiser also reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the programme, accommodation, or schedule where circumstances require it. Participants will be informed as early as possible of any such changes.
8. Force Majeure and Extraordinary Circumstances
Summer Drawing Lab cannot be held liable for cancellation or changes caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to: natural disasters, earthquakes, severe weather events, fire, pandemics, epidemic outbreaks, government travel restrictions, strikes, and acts of war, armed conflict, or military operations, whether declared or undeclared, in or around the destination region that make it impossible or unsafe to proceed with the holiday as planned.
In the event of cancellation due to force majeure, Summer Drawing Lab will make every reasonable effort to offer an alternative date or a credit toward a future holiday. A full cash refund in force majeure situations cannot be guaranteed, as costs may already have been incurred with third-party suppliers. Participants are strongly advised to take out travel insurance that specifically covers force majeure and war risk.
9. Travel Insurance
All participants are responsible to have adequate travel insurance before the start of the holiday. This insurance should cover at minimum: medical expenses abroad, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal liability. Summer Drawing Lab accepts no responsibility for costs arising from the absence of adequate travel insurance.
10. Health and Responsibility
Participants are responsible for their own physical and mental wellbeing during the holiday. Any medical conditions, dietary requirements, or mobility limitations must be disclosed at the time of booking. Summer Drawing Lab is not a medical or therapeutic facility.
11. Liability
Linda van Laar and Summer Drawing Lab accept no liability for loss, theft, damage to personal belongings, injury, or illness during the holiday, unless directly caused by gross negligence on the part of the organisers. Participation in all activities is at the participant’s own risk. Summer Drawing Lab is not responsible for the actions or conduct of third-party suppliers including the accommodation provider, transport companies, or excursion guides.
12. Behaviour and Group Respect
Summer Drawing Lab is a shared experience. Participants are expected to treat fellow participants, hosts, teachers, and local staff with respect at all times. The organiser reserves the right to ask a participant to leave the holiday without refund if their behaviour significantly disrupts the experience of others or causes harm to the group or the hosts.
13. Photography and Privacy
Photos taken by the organisers during the retreat may be used for marketing purposes including the website and social media. Participants who do not wish to appear in published photos must inform Linda van Laar in writing before or at the start of the retreat. Participants consent to the use of testimonials and written feedback for marketing purposes unless they explicitly request otherwise.
14. Privacy and GDPR
Personal data collected during the booking process is used solely for the purpose of organising the holiday and communicating with participants. Data is not shared with third parties except where necessary for the delivery of the holiday. Participants have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting Linda van Laar directly.
15. Complaints
Any complaints during the holiday should be raised with Linda van Laar immediately so that they can be addressed on-site where possible. Complaints submitted after the holiday must be received in writing within 14 days of the end of the retreat.
16. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by Greek law. Any disputes arising from the booking or participation in the retreat will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Greek courts.
